Fells Point is refined yet gritty at the same time. It is indicative of the toughness of Baltimore that sometimes is in contrast to the stuffiness of DC just a 40 minute drive south of the city. Walking down the cobblestone streets and looking at the brownstones you almost feel as if you’ve stepped back in time.
Much of the character of the area has been preserved even though now you will find many trendy restaurants and boutique stores as you walk through the area. From the sweets shop Kilwins to cafe’s like the Daily Grind, there is something for everyone in fells point.
The pier in Fells Point is perfect for a romantic stroll. You have the beautiful backdrop of the Chesapeake and the harbor as well as a clear view of the warships in the distance. It also serves as one of the stops on the water taxi route which makes it convenient to get to other destinations in the harbor for a small fee.
